Adverb

An adverb modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb — telling us how, when, where or to what extent. "She sings beautifully", "a very good film", "he came yesterday". Most end in -ly, but not all. The exam's favourites are position (especially the word only), the pairs good/well and hard/hardly, and the ban on double negatives. This chapter builds the types first, then the rules that trip students up.एक क्रिया-विशेषण (adverb) किसी क्रिया, विशेषण या अन्य adverb का रूप बदलता है — बताता है कैसे, कब, कहाँ या कितना। "She sings beautifully", "a very good film", "he came yesterday"। अधिकांश -ly में समाप्त होते हैं, पर सभी नहीं। परीक्षा की पसंद हैं स्थिति (विशेषकर only), जोड़ी good/well और hard/hardly, और double negative पर रोक। यह अध्याय पहले प्रकार, फिर विद्यार्थियों को उलझाने वाले नियम बनाता है।
